This is a little sprinkle of what’s yet to come later. These are just some people I ran into yesterday. They looked halfway attractive so I said “hey, can I take a picture of you?”. I think they turned out ok. Thoughts?

There is a hawt new site up for the brides-to-be in upstate South Carolina (finally)!! It’s UpstateBliss.com and it’s the next big thing in wedding planning, resources, and just plain cool stuff when it comes to all things weddings!
I was recently featured on the site with images from Chris & Cindy’s wedding back in June.:)
I can’t wait to see all the new awesome stuff they come up with on this site!

Today I had an awesome shoot with a gorgeous set of models. Just kidding, but if I didn’t say that, you wouldn’t know the difference.

This weekend I traveled to Charleston for Jessica + Mike’s Folly Beach wedding, which was in one word – beautiful. Jessica made the most beautiful Cinderella-esque – Vintage bride. I’ve already gone through these and picked out my faves. I had to get these posted immediately so Jessica + Mike would see them when they returned home from their honeymoon!
I’m waiting until after their reception in 2 weeks until I post the rest. Enjoy!!

Let’s face it. There are a lot of photographers out there. Each day, someone goes out and buys a camera, walks around their park and shoots pictures of flowers, puts a facebook profile up with those pictures, and calls themselves a professional, and starts charging money.
There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but I think the general public should have an idea of why some photographers charge more and some charge SUPER cheap. It’s because of all the additional work going on in the background after someone shoots a picture and uploads it to their computer. It’s more than just clicking a few buttons. Sometimes it takes 15-20 minutes to get one image to look the best that it can. This is what I try to do in all of my images.
It’s not a bad thing if you’re wanting to save money. I want to save money on stuff I buy, too. But I want to make sure I’m getting what I’m paying for.
Hence, the reason for this post.
I’ve been wanting to do a “before and after” post for a while, and especially create a weekly feature from my daughter Taelor’s amazing work with my images. Sometimes I’ll just let her play around with actions and textures and she amazes me with what she can do. So soon you’ll be seeing some of her luscious editing skills on a weekly basis!
There’s several ways a photographer can present their images to you. Your lesson from this post is to learn the difference between straight out of the camera (SOOC), and an edited image.
Take this image I shot of my son, Evan. This picture is nothing major. Anyone could have shot it. But most would have been thrilled to see the first image posted online as a portfolio image.

But, take that image to a professional, who would cringe to see that presented to a client, let them work their mojo, and this is what you might expect:

And here’s me just playing around with it some more…

Again, this isn’t anything major- it’ just something to give you an idea between a $25 photoshoot and a $300 photoshoot. Just Sayin’.
Now, the question is… is there any of my previous boudoir clients that would let me post a before and after of them? lol. I didn’t think so, but the search goes on… that would be the ULTIMATE example of before and after!!:)
